George Bullock Card Table
George Bullock Card Table
Share
Early 19th century Regency period card table with simulated rosewood and classical motifs applied to mahogany with mahogany frame and structure, this is an unusually fine table both in design and construction, having exquisite detail to the decoration, totally freestanding with decorated frieze all round, a catch to prevent unintentional rotation (which works in both folded and open positions) and is in very good condition throughout. There are marks to the leather, this can be replaced of course but it is a lovely old skiver and it would be good to keep it on there a bit longer. There are several pieces in museums and books with similar decoration applied in the manner here known to be by Bullock. Click or copy and paste the link below to see a good example of similar applied work. My desert island piece. Attributed to George Bullock, English circa 1815.
